Frequently Asked Questions

What is Doggy Daycare?

Doggy Daycare, like child care, is a place for dogs to play, learn and socialize while their family is engaged in other activities.

Why is it different from a kennel?

Dogs at Rover Ranch are not kept in kennels or dog runs. They are free to move about together like a natural pack. The environment at Rover Ranch is very much like a home. Dogs can play outside or inside.

Is there a lot of barking?

No. When dogs can play freely and are not confined to a dog runs there is very little barking because they share common ground. Dogs confined to kennels become territorial and constantly bark at their neighbor or anyone passing by their turf.

What if a dog barks excessively or misbehaves?

All guests are subject to a socialization interview before being accepted to Rover Ranch. Trained Dog Handlers supervise all activities. There are many ways to correct barking dogs. We will use a variety of techniques to stop barking. Dogs that bark excessively or do not play well with others are not appropriate guests in a cage free environment. We want your dog to have fun. We want him to go home with good manners. Dogs at Rover Ranch learn not to jump on people and to wait for permission before exiting through doors and gates.

What about odor ?

Our Dog Handlers clean up as soon as dogs relieve themselves. We scoop, double bag and use none toxic products to asure everything is clean and odor free. Quick pick up = clean dogs and no odor.
